When I did my first photoshoot, it brought out my self-confidence in a way that I never could have imagined.

My first shoot was one that I’ll never forget because it was a turning point for me and my business where I felt I was truly stepping into the role of the entrepreneur.
After about a year of working as a virtual assistant, I was ready to take my marketing to the next level which led me to reach out on a local FB Group to find a photographer in the area to help me capture some content for my website and socials.
Shortly after, I connected with a local photographer and booked a date to make it happen.
These photos are still some of my absolute favorites of myself and when I look back at them, I am nothing but proud of the girl who decided to go for it!
After that first photoshoot, I began showing up as the person I wanted to be.
The person who is confident and happy with her life.
The person who believes that she is capable of anything she puts her mind to.
The person that is not afraid to put herself out there even when it can be uncomfortable at first.⠀

Yoko from Yoko’s Photography dressed me up like a princess 3+ years ago and I will never forget the way she made me feel beautiful despite my own internal doubts and fears.
Honestly, there is nothing like having someone call you beautiful for an hour to make you start actually believing that it could be true.
Since that experience, I started doing collaboration photoshoots, and now, modeling with my agency, Glass Management.
None of this would have been possible if it weren’t for this first photoshoot that gave me the confidence to be seen!

Now, I try to schedule a photoshoot for myself at least every six months.
Not only are photoshoots great for my social media content and website images, but they also give me a little confidence boost to remind me that, “I’ve got this!”⠀
There is nothing quite like getting the photos back after and seeing yourself the way someone else sees you.⠀
⠀
And to be honest, no, I never love all of the photos.
I can be critical of myself sometimes. But then, I look at the photos like I would if I were a total stranger seeing myself for the first time.

I try to see myself the way others see me and usually, I stop being so critical. Because, here’s the thing. You look at yourself much closer than anyone else.⠀
⠀
As a kid, my dad always told me to “take a step back from the mirror” because I tended to (and still tend to) get up close and personal with the tiniest of imperfections that the average stranger would never even notice.⠀
When you take a step back & look at yourself with a stranger’s perspective, you will see that you are beautiful, unique, and everything you need to be at this moment.
⠀
So, to anyone who has been struggling with their confidence lately, I challenge you to book a photoshoot!
Go get your hair and makeup done then show up like you are about to step into a whole new version of you who is ready to show the world what you can do.
Why?? Because you deserve it!
Have you ever done a personal photoshoot before? ⠀
If not, what is stopping you?
